Janet's
interest in art started at a very young age. At fifteen she
was accepted into England's "Rochester upon Medway College
of Art & Design" - the youngest student accepted by the
college.
After graduating and working for a time as a prop-maker and
visual display artist, Janet's career took an entirely different
path. While continuing to paint commissions and murals, Janet
turned her attention to costume design.
Starting her own business, the self taught costume designer
was soon in big demand. Janet designed over 1000 costumes,
with many of them appearing on television and on stage at
London theatres, something she always found immensely rewarding.
Nine years later, health problems put an end to her costume
design career. Two throat operations had left her unable to
speak for two years, and it was to be another four years before
she could hold a conversion.
