Janet Skinner's very latest contemporary work's are for sale at Robyn Bauer Gallery 54 Latrobe Tce Paddington, Brisbane.
Janet Skinner is one of Australia’s most versatile and accomplished artists, having achieved a world record in design she also has her artworks, in public and corporate collection in Australia, the U.K. Italy, The Canary Islands and America.
Prints of her works and illustrations have been sent all over the world.
Skinner’s work at the moment, includes a body of work, which will significantly add to our historical records. Her painting’s, mainly created from life, are of 104 Railway Scenes from N.S.W and Queensland. The on going production of these artworks, encompass an array of styles, including that of traditional, semi-impressionistic and abstract.
An
exhibition of these railway works has toured Regional Galleries
in Queensland. The project so far, completed over a twenty
year period, has allowed the artist to evolve and at the
same time, experimenting with different media. Sixty of
these works are included in the publication ‘Romance of the Rail, history in art and word’ (see main menu).
Skinner
has an interest in a wide variety of subjects. Portraiture,
started to grow a few years ago, she has now become a regular
entrant to the ‘Archibald prize’ held in Sydney, Skinner chooses to paint famous and well known people from life for her entry each year.
To add to this, Skinner is currently in the process of illustrating a children’s book, with 32 oil paintings. The book is largely Australiana.
Skinner,
works out of studios both in Brisbane and Blackbutt.
Blackbutt
is situated in the South Burnett region of S. E. Queensland.
Blackbutt is a small quaint country town, well known for
timber, beautifully surrounded by rolling hills, farms
and pastures. Skinner says that “it’s the ideal place to relax and paint”.
